Course Overview:
AS unit 1- Starting a business –the challenges and issues of starting a business and financial planning which includes the essential financial concepts needed to start a business. AS unit 2- Managing a business- this unit covers the four key elements of business management; finance, people, operations and marketing. A2 unit 3- Strategies for success- This unit involves the analysis of accounts, markets, operational efficiency and workforce planning. A2 unit 4 – the business environment and managing change. The business environment includes the economic, political, social and technological environment and managing change to account for these changes. It is not necessary to have studied Business Studies at GCSE to be successful in this course, it is more important to be numerate and literate and to have an interest in current business and economic issues.

Degree courses including; Business, Management, Economics, Accountancy and Law. Successful Business students have pursed careers in a number of different fields including Finance, Human Resources, Law, Marketing, Quantity Surveying, and Optometry.
