Business Education includes a range of GCSE and A level courses aimed at developing pupils understanding of key concepts related to the world of business and economics. We aim to nurture important work related skills such as teamwork, presentations, creative thinking and problem solving. In addition, we endeavour to promote independent learning whereby our students are able to work effectively and are able to make informed judgements related to business and economic matters.
Our central purpose is to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills to engage effectively in the world of work, as well as showing a real appreciation of the macro-economic factors which are shaping today’s workplace.
Our philosophy is to bring the real world into the classroom by using a range of interactive stimuli and practical based activities. We apply this philosophy to both the exam based courses and the Enterprise Days which are part of the schools Cross Curricular Days.
We have a history of exam success at both GCSE and A level and many of our sixth form students go onto university to study business and other related disciplines such as accountancy, marketing, human resources management, law and economics.
