Headteacher’s Message

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Rushcliffe School. It is a vibrant, inclusive, learning community. Academic excellence is at the heart of all we do and we are rightly proud of the outstanding attainment and progress of our pupils. High expectations of all lead to an environment where pupils work hard, show respect and courtesy and are expected to try their best in all that they do. We are a happy and harmonious community where children feel safe and talents are nurtured. We believe all children should be given the chance to shine brightly and offer an extensive extra-curricular provision.

We celebrate participation and achievement in sport and the arts. Our school teams are very successful; we are county, regional and national champions across a number of disciplines. Individually we have many pupils who have achieved national and international success in their chosen sporting field. Music and drama productions are a regular feature of Rushcliffe life. We are set to build a multimillion pound block to house our music and drama departments with state of the art facilities.

In 2014 we were recognised by Ofsted as an Outstanding School in all categories. In 2015 we were awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark. The only school in the East Midlands to be awarded such an honour in recognition of taking the school “beyond outstanding” In 2016 we were one of only 8 schools throughout the UK to be nominated for TES Secondary School of the Year.

We very much believe in partnership working and are the lead school in The Trent Academies Group. We work closely with Farnborough Academy and Arnold Hill Academy. We have a shared purpose and core values.

I am proud to be the Headteacher of Rushcliffe School; we have a talented staff that will always go the extra mile to support, nurture and challenge our fantastic pupils. I hope you find the website useful and get a good insight into the work of our highly successful school.
