Young Enterprise County Final Runners-up

A group of 6th form students entered the Young Enterprise Company Programme this year and finished runners-up in the county finals. Along the journey they won awards for the most innovative product and best team work. Their product was a children's book aimed at educating them on the danger's around the home. Their other major successes included an appearance on Nottingham Trent FM and a reading workshop at the Nottingham Waterstone's book store. The company has since decided to stock their book and it is for sale at £7.99; a real snip.

All-weather sports pitches and community use.

Rushcliffe School has plans to redevelop its all-weather sports facilities using the latest multi-sport surfaces, suitable for football and hockey, including new fencing and a new sports pavilion.

When the School became an Academy, it inherited an all-weather hockey pitch and 5-a-side football pitch which were not of adequate quality for use by local sports clubs.

The proposed pitches have the potential to be of enormous benefit to the school and also to the local community and local sports clubs. This is a significant investment in the sporting lives of our pupils, and the wider community.

The school would welcome the views of neighbours, local sports clubs, other schools and potential partner organisations who may wish to be involved in this venture.

Rushcliffe School is holding a public consultation at 6pm on Thursday 2nd May in the Eatz dining hall, Rushcliffe School, Boundary Road, West Bridgford NG2 7BW.
